U214

This wreck was discovered by Innes McCartney on 6 Jul 2006 not far from the position given in official records. This is a rare example of a "B" classification sinking actually turning out to be correct. The wreck lies on its port side and has two major areas of damage. One on each side of the conning tower. The dive was a challenging one due to the huge amount of monofilament net present on the wreck. However its identity was never in question once the mine chutes came into view.

The full story of the destruction of this submarine is related in Innes McCartney's acclaimed "LOST PATROLS - Submarine Wrecks of the English Channel"

Innes McCartney's U-boat wreck DVDs can be seen here.
